Connecting the Circle executive summary Download
In one square mile, University Circle brings together internationally celebrated museums,
leading higher education and research institutions, and groundbreaking medical centers. Every
day, students, researchers, artists, healthcare workers, and visitors cross paths.
Moving between spaces should feel easy and welcoming, but confusing roadways and unsafe
pedestrian crossings can make even short distances feel intimidating. Beautiful green spaces
exist, but many lack the amenities that invite people to gather and stay. This creates barriers that shape how people move and who feels welcome. As a result, visits often begin and end in one place, or don’t happen at all, limiting what people discover in the district.
Connecting the Circle changes that.
This plan transforms University Circle into a connected experience where discovery and community become part of everyday life, and public spaces feel as thoughtfully designed as the institutions themselves. It works as one system that strengthens connections to surrounding neighborhoods, creates welcoming entrances, and brings shared spaces to life.
