University Circle Awarded Rails to Trails Trail Grant 2026

Exciting news: Rails to Trails Conservancy announced the recipients of its 2026 Trail Grants program—and we were selected! With this grant, we will be able to fund a study to improve and modernize the Harrison Dillard Trail, Cleveland's oldest bikeway. Named for a Black Clevelander and four-time Olympic gold medalist, the trail connects Lake Erie to the Shaker Lakes through the heart of University Circle. This study will provide the foundation needed to the give the trail the investment that it deserves.

Since 2008, RTC has distributed nearly 4 million in grant funding across more than 310 organizations. This year’s grantees are working to create and activate the physical infrastructure that makes it safer and more convenient for people to walk, bike and be active outside where they live.
