Join us for an evening exploring behind the scenes of the CMA’s newest exhibition, Rose Iron Works and Art Deco. A family-run Cleveland hallmark, Rose Iron Works has been a leading manufacturer of decorative metalwork in the United States since its founding by Hungarian-born ornamental blacksmith Martin Rose in 1904. Hear from Bob Rose, grandson of founder Martin Rose, president, and lead designer; design engineer Jesse Burns; object conservator Larry Sisson; lead blacksmith Steve Moorhouse; and the CMA’s senior conservator of objects, Beth Edelstein, as they discuss the creation of new pieces for the exhibition and the continuation of the studio’s traditions today.
