University Circle Inc. Unveils “Connecting the Circle” Vision

Posted May 20, 2026 in Articles

University Circle’s Connecting the Circle plan is a new long-term vision focused on improving how people move through and experience the district. The plan looks beyond individual institutions to focus on the spaces between them, including streets, sidewalks, parks, gateways, and public gathering spaces.

The major focus areas include improvements to Euclid Avenue, East 105th Street, the Harrison Dillard trail, Wade Oval, and Rockefeller Park South. The plan explores opportunities to expand green space, improve crossings and sidewalks, activate public gathering spaces, and create stronger visual and physical connections throughout the district.

The vision builds on University Circle’s role as one of the country’s leading centers for arts, culture, education, wellness, and innovation. Home to internationally recognized museums, universities, and medical institutions, the district welcomes millions of visitors each year.

“Connecting the Circle” is intended to guide future investment and collaboration over the coming years, helping ensure that the public realm evolves alongside the institutions that define the district. The plan also emphasizes that stronger public spaces can create more opportunities for discovery, community interaction, and economic growth across the broader area.
