New University Circle Shop & Chomp Passport Supports Local Businesses, Incentivizes Patrons

University Circle Inc. (UCI) and its Greater Circle Business Alliance (GCBA) are launching a new Shop & Chomp Passport to support local dining establishments in the greater University Circle neighborhood this holiday season. The passport will launch on Small Business Saturday, which falls on Nov. 26, and run through Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Jan. 16.

Shop & Chomp Passport participants are located in University Circle, Innova and the Shops at GlenVillage and include the Coffee House at University Circle, Kantina, Sittoo’s, The Jolly Scholar, Urban Kitchen and Pipe’N Hot Grill.

The Shop & Chomp Passport can be downloaded and used through any smartphone. Patrons visiting the six participating locations and completing a purchase will be given a redemption code that tracks how many locations they visit. Once patrons visit four locations, they will be entered to win University Circle prize packs.

One Grand Prize winner will receive an overnight stay at a University Circle hotel, a pair of tickets to the Cleveland Orchestra and a $100 University Circle restaurant gift card. The value of this package is $500. Two winners will receive $100 University Circle restaurant gift cards. Ten winners will receive $25 University Circle restaurant gift cards.

“The Shop & Chomp Passport is a fun way for residents, employees and visitors of University Circle to support local businesses who see a reduction during the winter holiday season,” said Anna Zavoda, Business Coordinator at University Circle Inc. “In addition to University Circle businesses, we extended our program participation to assist businesses located in the Innova building and the Shops at GlenVillage, two retail hubs adjacent to the neighborhood. The majority of those business owners represent disenfranchised communities that GCBA and UCI believe it can impact positively.”
