Winter is Wonderful at The Rink at Wade Oval

December 1, 2016 (Cleveland, OH) – The Rink at Wade Oval is open for the 2016-2017 season, offering outdoor ice skating in one of Cleveland’s most beautiful public spaces. Set among twinkling snowflake lights, cozy outdoor fire pits and seasonal holiday greenery, The Rink, operated by University Circle Inc. (UCI), has been a popular site for family gatherings and engagement proposals over the years. This season, The Rink is open November 25 - March 5, 2016. The Rink at Wade Oval is proudly sponsored by PNC.

Located adjacent to several of University Circle’s iconic museums, skaters can show their Rink wristband for discounted admission to the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland History Center, and Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Show it at the Cleveland Orchestra store for 10% off merchandise.

“We celebrate all four seasons in University Circle,” said Chris Ronayne, president of UCI. “We make the most of winter weather, with a schedule of events at The Rink from live music nights, to mite hockey tournaments. And we’ll even turn the ice pink for Valentine’s Day!”

Beautiful by day or night, a skate on The Rink’s fresh ice, followed by a cup of hot cocoa around a warm fire will chase wintertime blues away. Rink season runs from November 25, 2016 through March 5, 2017. The Rink at Wade Oval and The Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink in Public Square are offering a joint pass for $12 that includes skating and rentals. The pass is on sale at both rinks.
