Explore the transformation of the truck from a spartan motorized wagon into a cornerstone of American culture and commerce. As a featured stop on the America 250-Ohio Transportation Trail, the exhibit celebrates Ohio’s pivotal role in moving the nation. Part of the statewide "Trails & Tales" initiative, Keep On Truckin’ connects local innovation to the national story as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary. Not long after the first automobiles took to the roads at the end of the nineteenth century, "horseless carriages" were modified to distribute commercial goods. These early trucks were mostly utilitarian, designed to fulfill specific needs and discarded once their service ended.
