The First Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Wade Oval

On Saturday, November 23, Wade Oval came alive with holiday cheer as families, friends, and neighbors gathered for the first-ever Tree Lighting Ceremony as part of Illuminate the Circle, Powered by PNC. It was a night filled with excitement, community, and a whole lot of holiday magic.

Before the tree lighting, guests enjoyed live music from the Stix Quintet. Concessions from Kernels by Chrissie and Delish Mobile Kitchen, as well as yard games for the whole family, were available all night long!

Santa made a special appearance to light the tree and stayed to meet all the children for the remainder of the event.

The University Circle Inc. Collaboration and Engagement Team offered crafts for people of all ages, such as votive making, letters to Santa, and a holiday wish tree.

If you missed the ceremony, don’t worry—the lights will be up every night through January 26. Whether you’re stopping by to see the synchronized light show or just strolling through the glowing trees, it’s a must-see this holiday season.
