Circle Village Brings Music, Food and Fun to the 31st Annual Parade the Circle
Posted April 28, 2023 in Press Releases
Celebrate the start of summer on Saturday, June 10 at the 31st Annual Parade the Circle and Circle Village in University Circle. This free event featuring the Parade, presented by The Cleveland Museum of Art, and Circle Village, presented by University Circle Inc., is back for the first time in over three years.
From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Circle Village engages the community in a festival-like atmosphere on Wade Oval. Local nonprofit organizations and University Circle institutions, such as The Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cleveland History Center and the Cleveland Botanical Garden will offer free activities ranging from face painting to instrument discovery to postcard making.
The Kulas Stage will host live musical performances including Councilman Conwell & The Footprints and the Taylor Lamborn Band. During the event, guests will have a variety of food and beverage options from local restaurants and businesses along with a beer & wine tent.
“This is University Circle’s largest one-day event, and we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome participants again,” said Becky Voldrich, Senior Director of Communications & Events at University Circle Inc. “Circle Village is a place for families, artists, musicians and our institutional partners to gather together and celebrate the start of the summer events season.”
The Parade, which begins at Noon, fills Wade Oval with colorful costumes, puppets, masks, and more created by local individuals and groups. New this year is the addition of Lead Artist, Héctor Castellanos Lara. This year’s theme is TRANSFORMATION (Dragonfly ǀ Libélula); a symbolic reminder that change is needed to grow.
