Celebrate the Holidays in University Circle at the 26th Annual Holiday CircleFest

CLEVELAND, Nov. 19, 2019 –University Circle’s beloved holiday open house, Holiday CircleFest, returns on Sunday, Dec. 8 for a memorable day of indoor and outdoor family fun. Holiday CircleFest is presented by Dollar Bank.

“For 26 years, we’ve had friends and neighbors from around the region make Holiday CircleFest a special part of their holiday plans,” said Chris Ronayne, president of University Circle Inc. “We invite the community to visit us again in the spirit of the season!”

Bill Elliott, Executive Vice President, Dollar Bank, stated, “Dollar Bank is excited to partner with University Circle Inc. for this year’s Holiday CircleFest! We always appreciate chances to support events that build rapport and excitement within the community.”

Many of University Circle’s museums, schools, churches, and nonprofit organizations open their doors for an unforgettable day of activities, make-and-take crafts, music and dance performances, and shopping. Most activities run from 1-5:30 p.m. University Circle Inc. will provide a free Event Circulator from 12:30-7:30 p.m. to take visitors to the participating locations.

Outside, Wade Oval will bustle with activity from Noon until 7 p.m. A full schedule is below:

Noon-7 p.m. – Skate on The Rink at Wade Oval

1-7 p.m. – Shop for everyone on your list at the outdoor Holiday Market

1-7 p.m. – Take a leisurely ride around Wade Oval in a horse-drawn carriage

1-7p.m. – Photos with Santa

1-5p.m. – Live music at The Rink at Wade Oval

1-6 p.m. – Watch ice carvers transform solid blocks of ice into works of art at the top of each hour

At 5 p.m., guests are invited to gather by The Cleveland Museum of Art for a community lantern procession, followed by a breathtaking fire art performance by Fire and Light Performing Arts from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Throughout the event, the University Circle Police Department will be stationed around Wade Oval accepting donations for the Cops in the Community Program. The proceeds will go to purchase hats, gloves, and scarves for local school children at Mary M. Bethune School in Glenville.

New this year, guests will have the opportunity to prepay for parking in University Circle’s Ford Road Garage using the Parkmobile app. Parking spots cost $9 and can be reserved up until midnight on Saturday, December 7. Guests will receive a ticket through their Parkmobile app, which can also be printed, to show to the parking garage attendant.
