“This year’s lineup has something for every musical taste, from reggae to Motown to jazz,” said Chris Ronayne, president of UCI. “We welcome the community back for another amazing summer on Wade Oval, Cleveland’s Central Park.”
“PNC Bank is in its 10thyear of sponsoring Wade Oval Wednesdays. It has been exciting to watch it grow from a neighborhood series to a regional event that attracts thousands,” said Paul Clark, PNC regional president of Cleveland and a member of the UCI Board of Trustees. “This concert series offers a great way to experience the culture and fun that is University Circle.”
In addition to a spectacular summer of music, special activities will take place at 9 p.m. on select dates during the WOW season. On June 27, guests will enjoy a fireworks display. Movies under the stars will immediately follow the concerts July 25 and August 8, featuring the family friendly hits, Coco and Hidden Figures, respectively.
July 25 is Healthy WOW Night, featuring free community health screenings provided by University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic. UCI will also celebrate the 28th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 25 by inviting agencies to set up informational booths and activities on Wade Oval.
PNC’s Mobile Learning Adventure will visit WOW Aug. 8 and 15. The Mobile Learning Adventure travels throughout the markets where PNC does business, enabling young children to participate in fun, educational activities and explore a variety of careers, such as veterinarian and firefighter. It is part of PNC’s Grow Up Great early childhood education initiative.
Visitors to this 14th season of WOW! have come to expect delicious food and activities for the entire family. This year will be no exception! Each concert will feature Cleveland-based restaurants and food trucks serving up everything from tacos to gyros to snow cones. Kids will enjoy free activities, along with bounce houses and other fun surprises.
Additional support for WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays comes from Cleveland Public Power, Cleveland Department of Water, Cleveland Department of Water Pollution Control, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, and Hughie’s Event Production Services.
