With opportunities come challenges—and vice versa!
Artist Jordan Wong (WONGFACE) shares insights and lessons learned from his experience with the City of Cleveland’s Transformative Arts Fund to help artists prepare for future projects involving big budgets and complex logistics. Hosted at The Sculpture Center, this program serves as a guide for artists wanting to break into public art, or who need some advice on an on-going project.
Since 2017, Wong has led professional workshops for artists—including NO MORE STARVING ARTISTS, a three-part series he launched in 2022—and has given talks at numerous universities and professional organizations, detailing his journey from working as a graphic designer to becoming a full-time fine artist. Those familiar with his previous talks will see how Wong has applied his core professional practices and principles to overcome challenges and bring his vision to life through his Transformative Arts Fund project in AsiaTown.
