Presenter: Caitlin Colleary, Ph.D., Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology
Join us as Dr. Caitlin Colleary, Associate Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology, explains why the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is one of the only places to find dinosaurs in Northeast Ohio. Journey out west as she shares the stories of some of her favorite dinosaurs in the collection, including Happy the Haplocanthosaurus. Along the way, you’ll learn about ancient ecosystems of the Mesozoic Era and why we don’t discover dinosaur fossils in the Cleveland area. She will also introduce you to her research in molecular taphonomy—the study of the processes of fossilization—and discuss how some of the techniques she uses can help solve ancient mysteries.
Doors open at 5:30pm; the lecture will begin at 6:30pm. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at Origins Café before the lecture.
General parking is $20; member parking is $6.
