Monet in Focus features five paintings by French Impressionist Claude Monet, created during the latter half of the artist’s life when he fully immersed himself in capturing the momentary effects of light and atmosphere on his subjects. Daring in their conception and execution, they also affirm Monet’s status as one the most innovative and poetic painters of his era. This lecture introduces the exhibition, on view in the Julia and Larry Pollock Focus Gallery from March 31 to August 11, 2024.
