The Cozad-Bates House Interpretive Center grounds will host the Extended Family Underground Railroad quilt as a part of Parade the City. The Extended Family Underground Railroad quilt commemorates Juneteenth and will be displayed at four locations across the city in June. The quilt was made in collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art and a diverse group of women throughout Greater Cleveland with artist Sue Berry. Restore Cleveland Hope will also be on-site with additional displays, historical re-enactments and music performances.
Parade the City is a program of Cleveland Museum of Art that keeps the spirit of Parade the Circle alive this year by pairing local artists with community groups to create together a total of eight celebratory art installations at community locations throughout Cleveland. The Cozad-Bates House is within easy walking distance of the Little Italy-University Circle Rapid Station on the RTA Redline rail line, #9 and #38 bus routes, and the Healthline. Bike racks are also available on-site. Limited visitor and handicapped spaces are available on-site, with a parking entrance off of Circle Drive. Public visitor parking is also available in the surrounding Uptown District. Mayfield Lot #22 at 11320 Mayfield Rd Cleveland, OH 44106 offers up to 2-hour parking for $3.
