The Dittrick Medical History Center, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, is dedicated to researching the history of medicine through a rich collection of rare books, artifacts, archives, and images. Originally part of the Cleveland Medical Library Association, established in 1894, it now operates as an interdisciplinary study center. Open to both the public and the university community, it houses a museum, archive, artifact collection, and image collection. The center explores the evolving understanding of health and medicine throughout history, using each artifact as a window into the stories of individuals, healers, patients, and society at large.
