There’s plenty of room for kids of all ages to explore in the Circle! Younger children will find their unique tune at the Harmony Garden and enjoy a spin on the restored Euclid Beach Carousel. The Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Glasshouse is a magical place, with plants, animals, and climates of far-away places made accessible for all to enjoy. The Hershey Children’s Garden offers an outdoor play environment that is 100% child-friendly including winding paths, a giant tree house, and ponds that are home butterflies, frogs and other critters.
At the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, kids love to get the lowdown on their favorite reptile at Turtle Travels, and other exhibitions scaled just for them, like a fossil dig and a touch wall. Stop at the Shafran Planetarium to experience a night under the stars – at any time of day!
Introduce school age children to the Cleveland Museum of Art, where they’re likely to be entranced by Armor Court, or the interactive Gallery One, where art and technology meet. Stop at the Information Desk to pick up a scavenger hunt to enjoy with your family or group.
Wade Oval is a beautiful green space with walking paths, shady trees, picnic tables and, on Wednesday evenings in the summer, free live concerts with lots of activities, food trucks, sponsor tents, and occasional movie nights. WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays concerts are on Wednesdays during the summer.
Hungry yet? Head a few blocks over to Uptown and watch Piccadilly Artisan Creamery make flash-frozen treats using liquid nitrogen and organic, local ingredients. Kids and adults will find something to bark about at the Happy Dog Tavern, where hot dogs are made to order with toppings like peanut butter, potato chips, or Froot Loops (and the tater tots with dipping sauces rule!).Back to Day Trips
