University Circle announces Uptown Summer Series, packed with free summer fun!

University Circle Inc. and Case Western Reserve University are pleased to announce a full schedule of free summer fun in the Uptown District! Free series of Friday afternoon lunchtime concerts and talks, Sunday fitness events, and special events hosted all throughout summer!

All outdoor events are weather permitting.

Lunchtime live music & talks

When: Fridays June 15th – September 14th | 11 am - 2 pm  
Where: Toby's Plaza

Join us for lunch on Toby’s Plaza every Friday from June 15th through September 14th for “Out to Lunch”, featuring live music from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by panel discussions on entertaining and informative science topics from Case Western Reserve University’s Institute for the Science of Origins from 1 pm - 2 pm.

Shape up sundays university circle

Shape Up Sundays 

Free outdoor fitness classes & recess games

When: Sundays June 10th – September 9th | 11 am - 4 pm 
Where: Toby's Plaza

Join us every Sunday on Toby’s Plaza for free outdoor fitness classes and recess games. We kick off every Sunday with a free outdoor silent-yoga class at 11 am with 121 Fitness, followed at 12 pm with either Bootcamp with Orangetheory Fitness, OR Silent-headphone Zumba with 121 Fitness. For the weekly rotating class schedule, click here.

Classes are free and a limited supply of wireless noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones will be supplied to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring the whole family for recess style games with Recess Cleveland from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. Play kickball, capture the flag, zorb games, tug-of-war, contests, music and MORE! No registration is needed, just meet us on Toby’s Plaza.

CreativeMornings

When: Friday, July 20th | 8:30 am
Where: Toby’s Plaza
CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community. The free, monthly events feature a short talk and breakfast. In celebration of FRONT INTERNATIONAL: CLEVELAND TRIENNIAL FOR CONTEMPORARY ART, the July edition of CreativeMornings will be hosted under the Judy’s Hand Pavilion on Toby’s Plaza.
Special guest presenter, Grafton Nunes, president of The Cleveland Institute of Art will explore the idea of intention or lack thereof in an artist’s work. 
What are you trying to accomplish? What are you trying to say? What role does intention play in your work?
As always, registration is free but limited and comes with complimentary breakfast and coffee.

Cause & Effect Festival

When: Saturday, July 21, 2018 | 12 pm - 5 pm
Where: Toby’s Plaza

Be a part of the change you'd like to see in the world. Sure, one hashtag can sometimes become the precursor of change, but how can you get involved to really make a difference? Cause and Effect Festival is your opportunity to meet with Cleveland’s non-profits and activist organizations. Learn more about the work they’re doing in our community and how you can help. Hand-Off: Celebration of CLE Visual Artists + Art Swap

When: Saturday, August 18, 2018 | 12 pm - 5 pm 
Where: Toby’s Plaza
Hosted in partnership with MOCA Cleveland, Hand-Off is a day-long celebration of Cleveland's visual art community. Outdoor art exhibition and walk, along with hands-on activities + art exchange. Event is free and open to the public. Please note, this is a curated event with participating artists to be announced soon!



Dinner with Strangers

When: Friday, Aug 31, 2018 | 7 pm
Where: Toby’s Plaza
Mix, mingle and make new friends. Dinner with strangers is a complimentary three-course, al fresco, and casual networking dinner. Food from some of your Uptown favorites along with fun activities on Toby’s Plaza. Space is limited. Advance registration is required. Registration info coming soon. 



End of Summer Party

When: Saturday, September 8, 2018 | 12 pm – 11pm
