2022 marks the end of the Future Connections program. For the past 25 years, this program has served as a forerunner in high school career exploration, while providing real work experiences and targeted economic impact.
Future Connections served over 1,200 students from 20 school districts in Cuyahoga and Lorain County. We partnered with over 80 Greater Cleveland organizations as host sites and hundreds of dedicated professionals have served as mentors. Through student stipends, Future Connections invested over $1 million in direct student support, recognizing that our target population are vital earners in their families.
The landscape of career education has greatly evolved over the past decade and University Circle Inc. sees the initiatives happening in our partner institutions, as well as the the new PACE programming in the Cleveland schools and Greater Cleveland Career Consortium, as an opportunity to build something new. Our goal is to better support our partners and use our limited resources for greater impact.
It has been my honor to serve the best and brightest young people of Greater Cleveland for the past 12 summers and I am grateful for the dedication of hundreds of mentors who have given of their time to educate and train the workforce of the future. I look forward to participating in the regional collaboration of PACE and facilitating a broader impact of career education for all Greater Cleveland students.
To the connections of the future,
Erin Gill
Associate Director of Community Education
