Cleveland Museum of Natural History

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is undergoing a significant transformation, set to be completed in 2024, with the museum remaining open throughout the process. They are expanding and reimagining their campus and exhibits, adding new public spaces, and some... more

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is thrilled to announce the return of Think & Drink with the Extinct! This 21+ event invites science enthusiasts to spend an evening at the Museum digging into the latest discoveries with our scientific experts.

Celebrate the longest night of the year with us as we raise a glass in commemoration of the 2023 winter solstice. Guests are invited to wonder about winter traditions and the reasons for the seasons as they wander through the Museum's new Visitor Hall, which showcases our most iconic attractions—including Lucy, Balto, Haplocanthosaurus (Happy), and Dunkleosteus (Dunk).

The evening will feature live animal encounters, programs in the Nathan and Fannye Shafran Planetarium, and meet-and-greets with Museum curators and scientists. Thanks to our partners at Fat Head’s Brewery, a limited supply of Dunkelweizen beer will be available for purchase as we celebrate the opening of our Visitor Hall and the return of Dunk—one of our favorite specimens.

Museum doors will open at 6pm. Limited warm and cold foods will be available for purchase in Origins Café. Beer and wine will be available for purchase until 8:30pm.

PINK FLOYD'S THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Interested in adding an out-of-this-world experience to your evening? At 8:15pm we will offer a showing of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon, playing for a limited time only in the Shafran Planetarium. This special program pairs the iconic 42-minute album with breathtaking views of the cosmos, transporting audiences on a mind-bending audiovisual journey.

Guests must purchase a Think & Drink ticket to attend The Dark Side of the Moon. Look for information in your ticket-confirmation email about how to add a ticket for the show. $10 per person.
