Lee Mingweipresents interactive works of generosity and beauty by this internationally-acclaimed artist who had his first major museum exhibition at moCa over 20 years ago. The Sunriseexhibition honors our founders Marjorie Talalay, Nina Sundell, and Aggie Gund. Sunrise reveals our vanguard roots and the artists and individuals who created this special place.

Amphibians are one of the longest inhabitants of earth, colonizing land some 370 million years ago. Roberta Muehlheim will talk about her field work with amphibians and will discuss not only their amazing abilities but also their importance to life on the planet. After the talk, we will take a short behind-the-scenes tour of the vertebrate zoology department.

Join curator Britany Salsbury for a tour and discussion of Charles Burchfield: The Ohio Landscapes, 1915–1920. This signature exhibition explores the key role that northeast Ohio played in the art and life of American artist Charles Burchfield and features about 30 drawings made between 1915 and 1920, the period surrounding what Burchfield described as his “golden year.”
