A Community Thrives is a grantmaking and crowdfunding program from the USA TODAY NETWORK, which includes USA TODAY and Gannett’s hundreds of local media brands. The initiative is part of the Gannett Foundation and supports nonprofit organizations with projects focused on community building. Since 2017, the program has helped to distribute more than $17.7 million from donations and grants across the nation.

Your donation will lend a hand to support UCI's exciting, family-friendly summer events  which feature arts and culture focused activities for people of all ages.

YAY! Saturdays

Each YAY! features three zones with free children’s activities that rotate each week so you can choose your own adventure. All activities are free, geared toward K-8 students and their families. Each YAY! event features workshops and excursions led by museum and educational partners, fitness classes, yard games for K-8 students, and live theater, music, and dance performances. Activities and entertainment take place in three different locations, or “zones” around Wade Oval.Kevin Kopanski Photograhy

Circle Explorers Summer Camp

Circle Explorers is a summer camp that engages rising 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students from our neighborhood schools in a discovery of their environment, University Circle, and Greater Cleveland.  Each week, campers work with the Effective Leadership Academy to develop their social-emotional and leadership skills, and work on yoga and mindfulness with Zenworks Yoga. They experience the world by bicycle with DevahD Cycling, and through the lens of a camera with the Cleveland Print Room. There are also themed activities that change weekly, all focused on the question of What makes a vibrant Community?

WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays

University Circle's signature outdoor concert series, where you can enjoy live music, cultural celebrations, and local food vendors on Wade Oval from June through August. Musical groups vary every year, but concert goers can expect to see familiar faces.
