Development Operations Associate

The Development Department seeks a team member to work within the Development Operations team. The Development Operations Associate is primarily responsible for processing gifts & memberships, generating acknowledgements, database maintenance along with other support functions. This position is based out of the Cleveland Botanical Garden in Cleveland, OH. We are seeking an individual who is motivated, organized, can demonstrate a high level of accuracy and wants to do meaningful work in an organization that values diversity of thoughts and perspectives. Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the Development Operations Associate employee include but are not limited to:

  • Support Holden Forests & Gardens’ mission, vision, values, and core commitment
  • Ensure quality assurance with weekly donor and membership audits, duplicate record merges, and the maintenance of department materials
  • Regularly manage constituent and relationship updates, address changes and data cleanliness to our fundraising database (Altru)
  • Process donor and member gifts accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage gift acknowledgment process and produce acknowledgments, ensuring membership levels are accurate, and donor benefits are properly fulfilled
  • Provide customer support for membership and donor gift inquiries
  • Collaborate with Development Operations Coordinator to improve data and reporting efficiencies
  • Assist with pulling email lists for weekly eblasts and newsletters
  • Work special events and HF&G Member events related to the Development department a few times a year
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated passion for people and nature
  • Two years of clerical experience in a professional development environment, preferred
  • Proficient use of Microsoft 365 products, specifically Teams, Outlook (email and calendar), Word, Excel, SharePoint, and OneDrive, preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems; Altru or other Blackbaud CRM, preferred
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and work on a team
  • Understanding of non-profit development and the importance of handling confidential information

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand basic instructions is required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to get from one campus to another
  • This position will work between both campuses but will be based at the Cleveland Botanical Garden
