Cleveland History Center
Uptown is a vibrant residential, shopping, dining, and entertainment district located on Euclid Avenue.
Just a short walk from the institutions on Wade Oval, and within campus borders of Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art, Uptown is the “main street” of University Circle. It’s the place where residents, students, and visiting tourists converge to enjoy a diverse social scene and an array of entertainment - from art galleries and live music, to bowling and yoga.
Uptown is home to restaurants and bars that are a reflection of the many cultures of residents in the neighborhood. Craving sushi? No problem. Authentic Greek gyros? Check. Decadent French pastries and Champagne flights? You bet. There are places to grab your morning coffee and groceries for the week.
Cleveland’s Uptown has attracted some of the area’s best restaurateurs who have created comfortable, casual eateries. Uptown has plenty of places to get craft beer, burgers, and even some Cleveland’s signature hot dogs and tots. Sit at a counter, a on a bench, a quiet table for two, or grab a window seat and watch the passersby. Stroll Uptown Alley and soak up the sun while enjoying an ice cream cone after browsing the nearby shops. At night, enjoy live music at several venues, an upscale bowling alley, and plenty of patios for lounging and catching up with friends.
