UCI Signature Events

UCI holds free annual events on Wade Oval, the park in the heart of University Circle. Working with University Circle institutions, UCI plans, promotes, and executes these community festivals that bring unique programming to Wade Oval, highlight the area’s rich cultural assets, and attract more than a hundred thousand people annually to University Circle. This interactive community arts event held annually the second Saturday of June features The Cleveland Museum of Art’s vibrant, one-of-a-kind parade and UCI’s Circle Village. Professional and amateur artists work up to six weeks before Parade the Circle to create unique costumes and human-powered floats for the festivities. Main stage performances and hands-on activities provided by more than 20 cultural institutions accompany the parade in Circle Village.

  

Attracting 10,000 people each year, UCI’s free summer concert series presents an array of top entertainment with genres ranging from jazz to reggae to Beatles hits. Weekends begin on Wednesdays with music, food, drinks, art,  and extended hours at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and The Cleveland Museum of Art.

 

 

 

As University Circle continues to grow - with billions in institutional, residential, and commercial development expected over the next 10 years - the University Circle Police Department (UCPD) needs to grow with it by expanding its fleet, hiring new officers, and making capital improvements to its offices. Join UCI this September for its annual golf outing to benefit the UCPD.

 

 

 

UCI kicks off the holiday season with The Rink at Wade Oval and Holiday CircleFest. Holiday CircleFest features one free day of music, activities, and holiday shopping. The day culminates in The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Winter Lights Lantern procession and public art installation on Wade Oval. Open November through March, The Rink at Wade Oval is free; skate rental is $3.
