If you've never taken your kids to see the Cleveland Orchestra, this is the weekend to do it.

A program of "Americana" music is on tap, including a selection based on Aaron Copeland's well known 3rd Symphony and the Fanfare for the Common Man. For Friday and Sunday performances, children under 18 get in free with a paying adult. You can find more information on the program here:http://www.clevelandorchestra.com

The Rink on Wade Oval opens for the season on Friday. Admission is free and skate rental is $3. Skaters will also get discounted admission to the museums in University Circle. More details about Winter On Wade Oval can be found here: http://www.universitycircle.org

The Cleveland Botanical Garden has been transformed into a twinkling holiday wonderland called "Glow."

A 24-inch fir tree covered with ornaments and twinkling lights dominate the lobby, ushering visitors into a lavish display of dozens of unique trees created by local garden clubs. More than 100 gingerbread houses are also on display including this year's blue ribbon winner "Christmas at the Old Stone Church."

Children can make their own gingerbread house and take it home. And all are invited to ride the Garden Express Train. "Glow" opens Friday morning at 10 and continues through Jan. 5. There is more information here: http://www.cbgarden.org
