Every home game, 73,000 or so fans park their keisters in Cleveland Browns Stadium seats. Guess what? If you could miraculously transport every person who attends the Cleveland Museum of Art's annual Parade the Circle on Saturday to the stadium, you'd need 2,000 MORE seats, based on past years' attendance numbers.
Yep, it's going to be a mite crowded along Wade Oval Drive in University Circle from around 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., especially round noon, when the parade itself kicks off.
And one woman, Robin VanLear, is responsible for making sure all this comes together. VanLear is the museum's artistic director for community arts, and she's been in charge of what's become a huge event since the first one in 1990.
VanLear said she doesn't so much as curate or organize Parade the Circle as she "designs" it. That's the artist in her, she said.
