A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Cleveland's University Circle area for a new $27 million hotel. A Courtyard by Marriott is being constructed near Euclid Avenue and Mayfield Road, near University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University. Chris Ronayne, president of University Circle Inc. says the new attraction will provide lodging and meeting facilities for the area's 3 million yearly visitors. Developer Pete Snavely, president of the Snavely Group says getting hotel construction financed during tight economic times was quite a feat, but they were able to get it done with the help of public-private partnerships. The hotel will have 153 guest rooms and suites and will be LEED certified, meaning environmentally friendly.
