The University Circle Ambassadors are a growing team assembled by UCI to keep University Circle a safe, clean, and attractive place.
UCI kicked off its University Circle ambassador program in April 2009. As a pilot program, UCI retained two seasonal employees to take on the major responsibilities of landscape maintenance for the new Euclid Corridor, extending from Lakeview Cemetery on the east to East 105th Street on the west. The ambassadors also keep sidewalk trash and debris to a minimum and remove unsightly graffiti on street light poles and utility boxes. In 2011, these ambassadors are working year round, keeping Euclid Ave. clean and attractive and providing hospitality services to ensure visitors know where to go and how to get there. New this year, the ambassador program uses a sidewalk sweeper to enhance its maintenance activities. With continued and growing support from area stakeholders, UCI hopes to increase ambassador visibility on Euclid Avenue and create a presence throughout the rest of the University Circle district over the next few years.
