getting here and parking
University Circle is a City of Cleveland neighborhood located just 3 miles east of Downtown and 3 miles south of Lake Erie. It is easily accessible via a series of vehicular, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian networks. Below are basic instructions for finding your way here and finding your way around once you’ve arrived.
Taking Your Car
University Circle is easily accessible by car from all directions. Find written driving directions to our University Circle Visitor Center here or use Google Maps to map your own route. Before you leave, check our Parking Map for available parking locations and our Transportation Alerts Page.
Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) operates eight (8) bus routes, plus the Euclid Avenue Health Line (bus rapid transit) and the Red Line (heavy rail) routes to and through the district. View RTA’s University Circle system map here or try their trip planner at www.riderta.com. Find real-time service information at www.nextconnect.riderta.com, where you can track your bus or train along its route.
Taking Circle Link
Circle Link is a FREE circulator that operates throughout the neighborhood, courtesy of UCI and its partner organizations. You can take the Circle Link from the Cedar-University Circle Red Line Station or the Health Line to cultural destinations around Wade Oval, the CWRU and University Hospitals campuses, Uptown shops and restaurants, and much more. Buses arrive every 20 minutes, between 6:15 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, and every 35 minutes, between 12:00 PM and 5:30 PM, on Sunday. Buses can be tracked online from your desk or cell phone by clicking here.
Taking Your Bike
Cleveland is a Bicycle Friendly Community and getting to and around University Circle by bicycle is getting easier every year. Before you ride, consult this helpful guide from Bike Cleveland and this network map of cycling routes in the area, provided by the Heights Bicycle Coalition. Off-road bike routes that reach the district include the Lake-to-Lakes Trail [add image at right of the trail – CB to provide] and the Harrison Dillard Bikeway. Bike lanes are available on Euclid Avenue and Edgehill Road, and more than 1,000 bicycle parking spaces are available in the district, many of which are provided in covered garages.
