Join us for the kick off of the 2017 Universal Design and Inclusion Series, happening on Thursday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at the Cleveland Sight Center. This event will be an opportunity to reconnect with one another and learn about the local organizations and resources we have at our fingertips to improve accessibility and inclusion.

Present at the meeting will be the:

  • Susanna Meles, Manager of Rehabilitation Services, Cleveland Sight Center
  • Mary Jo Chisnell, Vision Rehabilitation Specialist, Cleveland Sight Center
  • Dr. Jennell Vick, Executive Director, Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center
  • Beth Glas, Assistant Executive Director, Maximum Accessible Housing of Ohio (MAHO)
  • Chris Garr, Director of Program Services at Youth Challenge, ADA Cleveland

Representatives from these institutions will share valuable information about what they do and the individuals they serve. Attendees will walk away from this session having discovered new and different ways to make your organization or business more accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities.

The “Local Resources” event on April 27 kicks-off a 2017 series of bimonthly events on Universal Design and Inclusion that will provide an opportunity for everyone to learn new strategies for incorporating these principles into hiring practices, marketing and communications, and programming, to name a few. Furthermore, these education events will be accompanied by a series of hands-on workshops to examine and test a Universal Design Audit tool, the first of which will occur in May at Maximum Accessible Housing of Ohio (MAHO).
