Since 2000 University Circle Inc. has been developing and executing a community wide vision to help shape the future of this unique urban district.
UCI looks to sustain the future of University Circle with ongoing and extensive development, service, and advocacy work while completing a $6.5 Million Endowment Campaign made possible by the Kent H. Smith Charitable Trust, one of UCI’s longest standing and most generous philanthropic partners.
UCI's annual campaign to raise unrestricted philanthropic revenue supports UCI's diverse operating activities taking place within three management clusters:
The Development Cluster consists of UCI’s Planning and Real Estate Department that facilitates, supports, and leads economic development initiatives, including institutional, commercial, residential, and infrastructure developments.
The Development Cluster's roles and responsibilities include facilitating, supporting, and leading economic development initiatives, including institutional, commercial, residential, and infrastructure development in and around University Circle's traditional boundaries.
The Service Cluster is comprised of Finance, Shared Services, University Circle Police Department, University Circle Improvement District, Property Management and Community Education.
The purview of the Services Department includes efforts that keep University Circle clean, safe and attractive - district-wide beautification initiatives, 24/7 police protection, business education and networking, and arts-enriched community education programs.
The Advocacy Cluster is comprised of personnel who manage Marketing and Communications, Community Partnerships and Advancement.
UCI staff plans and executes one-of-a-kind community events and attractions like WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays, Holiday CircleFest, and The Rink at Wade Oval, that bring visitors to the doors of our institutions. UCI deploys resources towards destination marketing efforts to generate awareness of University Circle’s offerings to an ever broadening tourism market.
