UCI works closely with donors to ensure their contributions reflect their organization's mission. Funding opportunities are available for the following programs: Annual Sustaining FundUCI’s role as the Circle’s central development, service, and advocacy organization is to lead activities and initiatives that will help us achieve our vision, including • Working with our member institutions to make our district safe, clean, and attractive to our visitors by developing a shared service model that allows UCI and our partners to provide needed services efficiently and at the lowest possible cost • Developing Euclid Avenue as the gateway to the University Arts and Retail District with new retail and housing opportunities combined with unique streetscape amenities • Continuing, in partnership with our member institutions, to improve and expand our longstanding community outreach initiatives that include delivering educational programs that annually impact more than 20,000 Pre-K-12 Cleveland students and promoting the Circle to broader audiences through our collaborative marketing efforts and unique community events • Advocating for our member institutions within the district and neighborhoods within Greater University Circle, such as Glenville, Midtown, Fairfax, Hough, Garrett Square, Little Italy, and East Cleveland Community Education Programs ![]() The Department of Community Education has been coordinating programming for Cleveland Municipal School District students since 1973. Quarterly Special Events Parade the Circle Parade the Circle is a free, award-winning event that integrates visual arts, dance, and music with educational activities for families and children. It is held annually on the second Saturday in June. Rated by Scene Magazine as "the best outdoor festival in Cleveland," and by Cleveland Magazine as “one of 19 reasons to cross the river,” the 2007 event attracted nearly 60,000 people. The all-day event is a collaboration between UCI and The Cleveland Museum of Art. It has two parts—the parade and Circle Village. The Museum coordinates the art parade, the event's centerpiece. This spectacular art parade features giant puppets, stilt dancers, colorful costumes, one-of-a-kind performance ensembles, and extraordinary floats. UCI coordinates all the logistics involved with producing the event, which includes food vendors, entertainment, activities, permits, equipment, safety, security, setup and takedown, etc. Click on the image to view the Parade the Circle photo gallery.WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays Concert Series ![]() WOW! Wade Oval Wednesdays Concert Series is free and open to the public. Concerts are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., June through August, on Wade Oval. Three of the most popular Circle institutions (Cleveland Botanical Garden, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and Cleveland Museum of Natural History) offer evening hours on these selected Wednesday evenings. In addition to entertainment, UCI hosts food vendors, activities, and local art vendors on the Oval throughout the concert series. Experience has proved that free activities draw large numbers of people to the Circle, many of which will then visit and contribute revenue on Wade Oval with food and art vendors and/or at the nearby museums, restaurants, and shops in and around the Circle.
