Franz Welser-Möst is in his fifth season as Music Director of The Cleveland Orchestra. His long-term commitment to the Orchestra extends through the 2011-12 season. Job Title Marketing Assistant Hours and Rate Temporary Part-time, $12.00/ hr Main Responsibilities The Marketing Department of The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking a highly motivated, professional, mature person to work as part-time Marketing Assistant. Responsibilities include on-site coordination of the Marketing Department's Blossom Festival promotional activities, including data collection, facilitation of set-up for media partners, coordination of Marketing distributions to patrons, and a liaison for Live Nation staff regarding Marketing activities; recruitment, training, deployment and on-site oversight of data collectors; general office duties, including data entry, data tracking and analysis; and general assistance with marketing/ promotional/ PR campaigns. Please note that this position is a temporary summer position. Qualifications This position requires on-site presence at Blossom 3 hours prior to each Blossom performance. Reliable transportation is mandatory. Applicants should possess strong oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills and be interested in gaining entry-level marketing experience in a major non-profit arts organization. The qualified candidate will be well-organized, articulate, computer proficient (MS Office/Windows XP/Internet), detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in a career in marketing or public relations. Experience or studies in marketing/advertising/public relations required. A music background is not required, but is a plus.
