Development Manager
40 hrs/week
Salary commensurate with skills and experience
• Database Management and Gifts Processing
Provides database support to the development efforts of The Free Clinic. Proficient in all elements of the donor software including data and gift entry, queries, reports and analysis of data. Prepares reports, summaries of activities, and acknowledgements for annual fund campaign, foundations grants and other fund campaigns as necessary.
• Annual Campaign
Manages all elements of the annual giving program, including materials development, solicitations, recognition, stewardship, acknowledgements and analysis. Identifies new sources of programming for the annual campaign, including development of an online giving program. Conducts personal annual fund solicitations as appropriate. Provides staffing for the Combined Federal Campaign and other community funding opportunities.
• Special Events
Provides leadership for resource development events, including the Free Clinic Fiesta annual event. Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers to support resource development activities, attending planning meetings, and appropriate follow-up. Maintains special event files, events database records, and event acknowledgments.
• Web Site
Primary responsibility for website development and maintenance, including working closely with Free Clinic IT staff as well as external vendors to ensure that Free Clinic website is updated and enhanced to best meet the needs of the organization and its users.
• Foundation Grant Management
Prepares foundation proposals to family foundations and other entities seeking renewal grants or those requesting less than $10,000.
• Other Duties
Work closely with Development Director to provide staff support to volunteer committee charged with supporting the fund development activities of the Free Clinic. Promotes effective communication within and between departments through teamwork. Attends departmental and Free Clinic all staff meetings. Provides assistance with volunteer management program. Contributes to departmental organizational decision-making through active participation. Works effectively and positively with co-workers and volunteers. Other duties, as assigned.
• Bachelors degree or equivalent nonprofit experience, including personal solicitation experience
• Thorough knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, including database management experience
• Understanding of non-profit budget process
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently & effectively to meet development targets
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
• Excellent oral, written, organizational and administrative skills
• Masters degree in nonprofit management or other relevant discipline preferred
