Patron Services Librarian

Hours and Rate 
Full time 

Main Responsibilities
Major responsibilities include developing, documenting, and implementing circulation policies and procedures; monitoring circulation software changes and providing circulation training; managing the library’s patron database; overseeing daily operations of the circulation desk and the library’s OPACs and patron computers; helping to promote and assess patron services; assisting with the library’s web page content; overseeing course reserves and interlibrary loan; participating in OhioLINK services; serving on Institute committees; and providing reference and instruction services.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited library school, one to three years of professional level experience, preferably in an academic or art library, and demonstrated proficiency using relevant functions of an integrated library system (preferably Innovative’s Millennium system). Additional requirements are proven customer service experience, strong computer skills, experience using electronic resources to provide reference services, effective communication and presentation skills, supervisory experience, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working within a consortial library environment preferred, as is a background in art or art history. Previous instructional experience would be helpful.
