Assistant Director of Admissions/Admissions Counselor

Salary commensurate with experience
Working closely with applicants and high school candidates and their families in promoting CIA and assisting in the admissions process; assisting in evaluating candidates for admissions, including conducting portfolio reviews of artistic submissions; representing the Institute at high schools, college fairs, portfolio days, and other recruitment events; articulating with high school counselors and art teachers; managing an assigned geographic recruitment territory, by helping to generate a targeted number of qualified applications; generally contribution to the Institute’s overall recruitment goals; representing the Institute among alumni, parents, and professional and student groups.
A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred); the ability to articulate the programs and value of an independent school of art and design; excellent communications and presentations skills; excellent organizational and self-management skills. The ability to review artistic portfolios and evaluate students’ talents for drawing, color, and desire are highly desirable. While prior experience as an admissions counselor is preferred, related fields may include counseling, teaching, and sales.
